Why we love this product

We chose this probiotic for its diverse, well-researched strains and high CFU count that are actually guaranteed at expiration — not just at manufacture. Strain specificity and shelf stability are the two factors most often overlooked in probiotic selection, and this formulation checks both boxes for meaningful gut microbiome support.

From Our Staff Pharmacist

"Most probiotics I see on the market are dead before they even reach you — the CFU count on the label means nothing if it's not guaranteed at expiration. Ultrabiotic is formulated to survive from the shelf to your gut, with the right strains at the right doses. It's simply the probiotic I trust." – Staff Pharmacist

Directions & usage

How to take it

How to take it

Take one capsule with water daily, or as directed by your healthcare professional. UltraBiotic can be taken at any time of day. Some people prefer taking it with a meal to support tolerability, while others take it on an empty stomach. Either approach works with the DRcaps™ gastro-resistant capsule, which is designed to protect the organisms regardless of stomach conditions at the time of ingestion.

A note on dosing

A note on dosing

Probiotics work best when taken consistently. The benefits of probiotic supplementation, including supporting a healthy microbiome balance and immune function, are cumulative rather than immediate. Building a daily habit matters more than the specific timing.

General benefits

UltraBiotic’s four-strain formula supports gut health through several complementary mechanisms. Here’s what the research says about the strains and the systems they benefit.

General benefits

Gut Microbiome Balance and Intestinal Health

Probiotic organisms support gut health by adhering to intestinal epithelial cells, competing with unwanted organisms for attachment sites, producing short-chain fatty acids and other beneficial metabolites, and helping to restore healthy bacterial populations after disruption from illness, antibiotics, or dietary changes. The strains in UltraBiotic were specifically selected and tested for their ability to adhere to human epithelial cell lines and survive the harsh conditions of the digestive tract.*

Bowel Regularity and Transit Time

Bifidobacterium lactis HN019® is one of the most studied probiotic strains for gastrointestinal function. In a dose-response study involving 100 adults, daily supplementation with B. lactis HN019® produced statistically significant decreases in whole-gut transit time at both high and low doses, with no effect seen in the placebo group. Participants also self-reported improvements in other parameters of healthy GI function. For people dealing with occasional sluggish digestion, this is one of the more clinically grounded strains available.*

Immune Support

A substantial portion of the immune system is housed in the gut, and probiotic organisms play a recognized role in supporting immune function. B. lactis HN019® has been studied for its effects on immune response across multiple populations, including elderly subjects, where supplementation resulted in statistically significant increases in beneficial bifidobacteria and lactobacilli. Lactobacillus acidophilus La-14 and Lactiplantibacillus plantarum Lp-115 have also demonstrated strong adhesion to human epithelial cell lines, which supports their ability to colonize and interact positively with gut-associated immune tissue.*

Lactose Digestion

L. acidophilus produces lactase, the enzyme responsible for breaking down lactose. For individuals with lactose sensitivity, having a well-established population of L. acidophilus in the gut can support more comfortable digestion of dairy-containing foods.*

Why Strain Selection and Packaging Matter

A high CFU count on a probiotic label means nothing if the organisms are dead by the time they reach the intestine. Two things determine whether that happens: how well the organisms are protected during storage, and whether they survive stomach acid during digestion. UltraBiotic addresses both. Individual nitrogen-purged aluminum blister packaging protects each capsule from heat, moisture, and oxygen throughout the shelf life. The DRcaps™ gastro-resistant capsule slows exposure to stomach acid, promoting more targeted release in the small intestine where the organisms can actually adhere and colonize.*

The VVP quality difference

When you buy a supplement from Val Vista Pharmacy, you’re buying from a licensed, practicing pharmacy, not a marketplace, not a fulfillment warehouse. That distinction matters for a few reasons.

Practitioner-grade sourcing

Practitioner-grade sourcing

Every supplement we carry has been evaluated by our pharmacists for ingredient quality, formulation rationale, and manufacturer standards. UltraBiotic uses validated, researched strains including the extensively studied HOWARU® B. lactis HN019®, and meets or exceeds current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) quality standards.

A pharmacy you can trust

A pharmacy you can trust

Val Vista Pharmacy is a family-owned, independent pharmacy in Gilbert, AZ. We built our practice around the idea that people deserve more than a transaction when it comes to their health. Whether you’re filling a compounded prescription or ordering supplements for the first time, you’ll be treated like a person, not an order number.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a prescription to order UltraBiotic?

No. UltraBiotic is a dietary supplement and doesn’t require a prescription. You can add it to your cart and check out directly.

Can I order this alongside my compounded prescription?

Yes. Many of our patients order supplements and compounded medications together. If you have an active prescription with us, you can add supplements to the same order by calling us at (480) 887-0244 and we’ll take care of it for you. You can also add supplements through the online checkout link you receive via text when you submit your prescription. If you’d rather order through our store directly (which is where you are now), supplements will ship separately, and orders under $149 will include a shipping charge.

Does UltraBiotic need to be refrigerated?

No. Each capsule is individually sealed in a nitrogen-purged aluminum blister pack, which maintains stability at room temperature without refrigeration. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat, and you’re set. This also makes it easy to travel with.

Can I take this while I’m on antibiotics?

Yes, but timing matters. Antibiotics can kill probiotic organisms along with the bacteria they’re targeting, so it’s generally recommended to take probiotics a few hours apart from antibiotic doses rather than at the same time. Continuing probiotics after finishing the antibiotic course is also helpful for supporting microbiome recovery. Our pharmacists can give you more specific guidance based on your antibiotic regimen at (480) 887-0244.

How long does it take to notice a difference?

That depends on what you’re using it for and where your gut health is starting from. Some people notice changes in digestion within a week or two. For broader benefits like immune support and microbiome balance, consistent daily use over several weeks gives the organisms time to establish. Probiotics work best as a sustained daily habit rather than a short-term fix.
